Nepal is home to 8 of the highest mountain peaks in the world including the tallest Everest. This itinerary will enable you to view Mount Everest and the surrounding peaks at close quarters. Your journey by private helicopter will also allow you to experience the varied and fascinating landscapes, peoples, mystical towns and cities that this remarkable country has to offer. Your guide for the trip will be someone who has climbed Everest and has an intimate knowledge of mountaineering.

Full Itinerary

Day 1: Arrive Kathmandu

Upon arrival and completion of immigration formalities at Kathmandu airport you will be met by your representative and escorted to your hotel, which is located 25 minutes from the airport. After freshening up, there will be a full briefing on your program. Lunch will be at the hotel. With your guide you will walk for 15 minutes to the temple complex of Boudhanath. Boudhanath is one of the largest Stupas in Asia and is home to some 10000 Tibetan refugees. Surrounding the Stupa there are many colourful Tibetan shops and tea houses. Dinner tonight will be in an old converted stable block once owned by one of Nepal’s ruling Rana families. The complex has an excellent selection of antique, craft and painting shops.

Day 2: Kathmandu [Visit Mt. Everest]

This morning you will meet your Everest Summiteer at the hotel for an early breakfast before being driven to the domestic airport for your 45 minute helicopter trip to Lukla. This spectacular flight follows the Langtang and Jugal ranges before entering the Eastern region where you pass Rolwaling Himal, Gaurisankar and Menlumtse before approaching the Khumbu area. The helicopter briefly lands at Lukla airport situated at an altitude of 2840m or 9375ft before taking off for your one hour plus flight around the Khumbu valley with its surrounding peaks. We fly up the valley over Tengboche monastery, over Amadablan base camp and over Everest base camp. We then cross the Cho La pass which is situated at an altitude of 5595m or 18500 feet and pass over the famed and sacred Gokyo lake before landing at Kongde situated at an altitude of 4250m 0r 14000 feet. On the ground we will have breakfast with a panorama of all the surrounding peaks including Everest. After breakfast, the helicopter will return to Lukla take on fuel before flying back to Kathmandu. As with the outbound flight, there will be spectacular mountain views along the way. Your summiteer / guide will provide you with additional insight into the culture of the region as well as having an intimate knowledge of the mountains. Upon arrival, we will return to the hotel for lunch. In the afternoon, your guide will accompany you to Kathmandu Durbar square home of the living Goddess and the old Royal Palace. We then walk for 30 minutes through the winding streets to the tourist area of Thamel which is the center for many varied shops and restaurants. Drinks will be at Rumdoodles, with your summiteer. This is a well known restaurant to mountaineers. Any climber who has ascended one of the major peaks has his or her signature on one of the walls. Dinner will follow at a restaurant called the garden of dreams which is located in the grounds of a former royal palace.

Day 3: Kathmandu. [Bhaktapur, Patan]

After breakfast, you will be escorted with your guide for the 40 minute drive to the medieval town of Bhaktapur where the artisans of the Kathmandu valley practice their crafts. The town allows no vehicle access so walking around is a pleasure. We will learn about Buddhist and Hindu architecture and sculpture. We then drive to Patan, one of the old capitals of Nepal, where you will tour the Patan Museum. The museum’s exhibits cover a long span of Nepal’s cultural history and some rare objects are among its treasures. Their meaning and context within the living traditions of Hinduism and Buddhism are explained. Lunch will be at the museum restaurant. The afternoon remains free and your guide will be happy to escort you to anywhere you want within the valley to see any of the sites you have seen or for any last minute shopping. Dinner will be at a restaurant of your choice that you decide on with your guide.

Day 4: Depart

Today you will be escorted to the airport for your onward International flight.
